Honesty, justice, generosity, fortitude, mercy, integrity, and humility are the virtues which were modeled by Nelle Reagan for her sons, Ronald and Neil Reagan. Later, as an adult, Ronald would find the same qualities in Nancy Davis, the woman who would one day become his wife.
As wives and mothers, we go about our daily routines focused on the here and now. This past week, I was challenged through Charlene Notgrass’s blog post Memories and Dreams for the Future http://notgrass.com/dailyencouragement/memories-and-dreams-for-the-future
to think of not only the here and now, but also think of the future and what legacy I would like to leave behind. Clearly, the legacy of Nelle and Nancy Reagan speaks louder than words. Nelle and Nancy were women of substance. They embodied the virtues of wisdom, honor, sacrifice, diligence, patience, kindness, and modesty. In the end, this is how I too would like to be remembered by my family and friends.
