Here are a few nuggets of wisdom I have gleaned over the past 16 years of parenting/homeschooling:
Your child is a person.
Observe your child, watch for cues they give you.
Curriculum is a guide and servant. It is not your master.
Use common sense when making decisions.
Foster a love of learning in your home.
If you or your child need a nap, then take one.
Tailor the educational experience in accordance with your child’s learning style and needs.
You will never be able to teach your child everything they need to know.
As the teaching parent, you set the tone for your home school.
If you or your child are feeling stressed out, by all means take a break.
